India`s Sania Mirza was knocked out in the second round by the eighth seeded Mara Santangelo of Italy- 6-3 3-6 7-6(6) in the singles second round of the $200,000 DFS Classic tennis tournament in Birmingham, England on Wednesday.
After playing on Roland Garros clay in Paris Sania did not have an ideal start to her first match on grass but did go on to finally win the match. However, luck was not on her side in the second round.
